Dead man walks minutes before his cremation in Odisha

Berhampur: It was no less than a miracle as a man presumed dead woked up minutes before he was being taken to cremation ground at Laukhala village under Surada police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district yesterday.

The incident took place at a small village in Odisha. While most of the people present at the ground were perplexed, the family members erupted in joy.

The elderly man, Simanchal Mallick, had gone to a nearby forest two days ago and fell unconscious. Locals found him lying in the same state at the forest and informed his family members, who presumed him dead.

Mallick was taken for cremation instead of being admitted to a hospital.

While he regained consciousness in the cremation ground, he was immediately rushed to Surada Community Health Centre.

After health check-up and preliminary treatment, he was discharged from the hospital.

“I wasn’t feeling well as I ran high fever. I don’t know what happened to me. When I regained consciousness, I found myself in the village cremation ground,” Mallick narrated.
