Bhubaneswar: While the state government launched Mo Sarkar initiative to ensure proper delivery of services, the officials seems adamant not to give a damn to the initiative.
A glaring case has come to our notice from Kharavela Nagar police station here where a complainant was harassed for over 10 days to obtain an FIR copy.
One Ratnakara Samantaray had visited the police station to register a cheating complaint on October 5 evening. On the subsequent day, he once again visited the Police Station to collect the FIR copy. However, he was told that the IIC was not present.
Surprisingly, an SI registered a station dairy and drove him away saying such cases are not entertained. Samantaray, who is running a travel agency, did not lose hope and continued to pursue the case for 10 more days.
After repeated harassments, he thought it fit to dial up the IIC Biswaranjan Senapati. Little did he know that no help is coming his way. Senapati too allegedly misbehaved with him and took the side of the accused.
This continued till October 14.
Coincidentally, Samantaray got a call from Mo Sarkar today and was asked about his experience in police station. An aggrieved Samantaray gave zero rating to the police station.
The complainant said that he has enormous faith in the system and would approach the Chief Minister and the DGP in the coming days to get his grievance heard.
