Odisha MP Aparajita Sarangi is a habitual offender: BJD

Bhubaneswar (TF Bureau): BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi has once again courted controversy for violating COVID19 guidelines.

The ruling BJD today came down heavily on the parliamentarian as the latter was seen violating the guidelines during an earth-breaking ceremony for a flyover project.

Describing the BJP leader a habitual offender, BJD leader Dr Sasmit Patra said, “Aparajita Sarangi has been regularly violating the COVID instructions provided by the Centre and the State. Throwing all COVID guidelines to the wind and breaking social distancing, she and her supporters attended a flyover Bhoomi Pujan programme today. She with her repeated violations is setting a bad example before the people despite being an elected public representative.”

Earlier, she was fined for violating COVID instructions and breaking social distancing norms.

“She accepted she had made a mistake and the BJP also said it was sad. But she continued violating the COVID instructions,” the BJD leader said.

Patra request Sarangi to follow the COVID instructions provided by the Centre and State and not set a bad example for the people of Odisha.

Four days ago, the lawmaker and her supporters were fined for not wearing masks and following social distancing norms.
