Bhubaneswar (TF Bureau): The former driver of Ortel Communications Ltd, a sister concern of Odisha Television Ltd (OTV), has come up with more sensational claims of more lands being registered on his name.
Rabi Sethi today claimed that officials of the media network pressurised him to sign on land registration documents despite his reluctance.
“I worked for the company for almost 17 years from 2000-2017. Not only at Sarua, lands have also been bought on my name in Puri district,” Sethi said.
He further said that the officials threatened to fire him when he objected to conform to their plans. Fearing job loss, he kept on signing on documents from time to time.
“I had even filed a written complaint with Khurda district Collector against Odisha Infotech Private Limited (OIPL) over this issue,” he said.
While a couple of employees of OIPL have been arrested in Sarua land row, Sethi’s revelations are not going to make things easier for Baijayant and Jagi Mangat Panda any sooner.
It may be recalled here that Jagi Panda had appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for a proper investigation into the allegations against them. She had also stated that police are unnecessarily targeting their employees.
Notably, a firm owned by the Pandas is accused of acquiring land at Sarua belonging to scheduled castes persons.
